Payment is due at time of service.
There is a $40 PER PET FEE for any missed appointments or appointments cancelled with less than a full 24 hours notice.
Acceptable payments are cash and check, only. No credit cards or online payments.
NSF/bounced/returned checks will be subject to a $35 fee, in addition to the grooming fee for which the check was intended.
All pets being groomed must be up to date on rabies vaccinations, as required by law. Proof via veterinary paperwork will be required prior to grooming. Tags do not count. This is to ensure the health and safety of both the animal and the groomer.
You will be asked to disclose ALL issues that the dog/cat may have, or have had in the past when going to the vet or being groomed (i.e. aggressive tendencies, likes/dislikes, and health conditions) so the groomer can be aware for the grooming session.
Please no flea/tick infested dogs. That should be taken care of, via medication, prior to the grooming.
If mats do not brush out easily in a minute or two, they will be shaved out. De-matting and overuse of brushing is painful for the dog/cat and its skin and can make them more aggressive in subsequent grooming sessions.
The safest method of grooming a matted pet is to shave the hair off and start over.
Please see FAQs for more information on matting and how it causes pain to your pets.
Paws Fur Me is not liable for any conditions discovered under heavily matted hair. A veterinary consultation will be recommended by the groomer to deal with the condition, at the owner's expense. See FAQs for a partial list of things discovered under/inside matted coats.
Senior pets require additional consideration. They often have high anxiety issues and/or can't stand for the full length of a grooming session, so "dry shave" options are available to shorten the time they with the groomer. The bath and drying are skipped because that is where most of the stress is triggered, and the grooming time is spent. The final look of the grooming will not be as nice looking without the bath and drying, but comfort of the pet comes before aesthetics.
Paws Fur Me Mobile Pet Salon reserves the right to refuse service to overly aggressive or anxious pets if the safety of the pet or groomer is under question, severely matted pets, or pets with health issues that require a visit to the veterinarian. Any issues (health or other) not disclosed to the groomer by the owner or unknown by the owner that are found by the groomer can result in termination of the current grooming session, at the owner's expense, and a request to seek veterinarian counsel.
Disclosing that a pet may have aggressive tendencies does not automatically result in a refusal of service. It allows the groomer to be mindful of the pet's behavior while being groomed so the groomer can avoid being bitten and can avoid injury to the pet if the pet were to move suddenly while being clipped.
In an attempt to prevent fleas from populating within the grooming unit and spreading to other pets, any pet believed to have fleas must be treated for such prior to the grooming session.
Paws Fur Me Mobile Pet Salon reserves the right to refuse any pet infested with fleas. If a severe infestation is found on the pet, the service may be refused with a $20 service fee until proper preventative treatment has been used to kill the fleas; otherwise, the pet will receive a flea and tick bath at the owner's expense.
